I AM the creator

 

I may not be God, but I am the creator!

 

I am the creator of my own happiness.

I don’t depend on others to make me happy and I don’t blame anyone when things go astray.

I realize that the only obstacle to true happiness is my own mind and I acknowledge that ‘disappointment’ only happens when my expectations are too high.

 

I have learned by now, that a little humility will go a long way, especially when served with a scoop of gratitude, and if I want people to be better to me, then I have to be better to people,  to start out with.

 

I have learned that new cars and fancy computers mean precious little if you don’t have any friends to share your joy with.

I have learned that ‘going the extra mile’ for somebody, can be the best shortcut I have ever taken.

 

My Mom told me never to hurt anybody on purpose, never to lie to anybody on purpose. I think she had a lot of purpose in her life, my Mom.

By now, I have found my own purpose in life. The purpose of my life is not to stab my friends in the back for $ 5 so I can end up rich with no friends.

The purpose of my life is to be better to people because by being helping to make other people’s life better, I make my own better.

 

I have dedicated 2007 as the year to help break down barriers, prejudices, taboos and misconceptions.

I have dedicated 2007 as the year to build bridges, from country to country, from culture to culture, from person to person and from heart to heart.

 

Why?

Because only be building bridges, together, and crossing those bridges, together, can we make this a better life for all of us!

 

For each bridge built, I can proudly say…I am the creator!
