Night shots

Ok, not long ago I flung myself into night photography. Just to try something new. That's pretty much like diving into a swimming pool from the 10 meter platform...without water in the pool.

"Big Spider/Harbour Moon".

Shot from North end of #4 Road in Richmond, standing on the platform of viewing tower, shooting North towards Vancouver on other side of Fraser River's North Arm.

Just like the spider'ish crane and the illumination of moon behind the clouds, on the dark night's sky.

Ya, ya..."pretty". That's all I have to say.

"Prettier"...but let's get back to what I really like:

Ok, one of my absolute favourite bands are "Kraftwerk" and this shot just simply hit home with me because it reminds of me of the album "Radioactivity".

Anyone who are familiar with Kraftwerk, who's been pioneering electronic music since 1970, will likely agree with me.
And if you don't know them,  this will likely be one of the most boring pictures you have ever seen.
Look left and scroll to near bottom and you can see pictures from one of the two concerts my daughter and I went to.

Kraftwerk! Literally! German for "power station".
#4 road, North end, @ River Road.

I just love the "guilt" in this one.
Like some peeping Tom Perv.
This is why you should always draw your curtains at night. Especially if you are a girl home alone.
Shot from Burrard Street Bridge, North end, eastward into the apartment building right beside the bridge - so close you can almost lean over the bridge railing and touch the building.

Same Burrard Street Bridge, South end,
looking North, East sidewalk.

Falls Creek, hungry at 23:00

"Butterfly building"

It was an experiment and I'm happy with how it turned out, but all this "glamour shit" is not really my style.

I much prefer the darker, grittier style but it's always good to learn new things and that's basically why I took up night photography. To learn new stuff.

I just wanted to turn it upside down, so I'm actually
shooting down, into a body of water that the light
reflects in.

And that's how that night ended.
