Just for the record, it's LACROSSE - and no other sport - that is Canadas' official national sport!
That being said, statistically Canada has never been a "hockey country" and will never become one. There are more than twice as many registered soccer players in this country as there are hockey players, and the gap is widening at a fast pace, cost, accessibility and other "troubling trends" being three main reasons.
There is only one sport on this planet, that is being played in an organised manner, in every single country in the World. Ask yourself why, but look above for a clue.
This is a love letter (or more like a declaration of love, since it's not really a letter) to the sport of football. You know; the game you play with your foot. Real football! The game that confused individuals, here, often refer to as "soccer".

HOW TO RAISE A FUTURE SOCCER FAN |
![]() |
Gone, but not forgotten: ERIC HASSLI was the King, until the "craps" decided they didn't want people will killer instincts. From then on, it was all downhill, until they hit eternal mediocricy and found a place to call home, right there. Then CPL came along... ...and with the CPL, and now the NSL as two major engines, two rocket boosters, the game in Canada really started taking off and Canada has truly become a World class contender, on both the men's and the women's side. And that says something, considering there are about 200 soccer countries in the world (compared to about 20 hockey countries). I'm a huge fan of the game on a "grass roots level" and "the under-dog" is my team. It's all about suporting the kids, giving them a chance, an opportunity. And nothing thrills me more than seeing the girls get the attention and opportunity they have deserved for so long, and then bloom. But whether male or female, the future is bright for Canada, so come along for the ride... LIFE IS PERFECT: GORGEOUS DAY, WATCHING A GAME LIVE AT THE STADIUM, COFFEE IN HAND & DAUGHTER (1st & 5th picture) BY MY SIDE "I SWEAR, REF, I DIDN'T DO IT" GOING HOME AFTER THE GAME (PORT MANN BRIDGE) BEAUTIFUL END TO A BEAUTIFUL DAY |
